Note 035

The thoughts that stayed with me this month.
Well…
August, you were something.
I’ve been writing, thinking, overthinking, watching too many YouTube videos, having conversations with my husband, reflecting on life, and apparently finding a lesson in just about everything.
Which, if you’ve been around Overthinkers Notes for any amount of time…
You already know.
I wanted to end the month by going back through some of the notes I shared and pulling out a few that seemed to hit a little differently.
Some received more attention than others.
Some made me think.
Some made you think.
And some I simply needed to remind myself of again.
So before we rush into September, here are a few August notes worth carrying with us.
📝 “You Know.”
Sometimes the most important person who knows what you did…
is you.
Doing the right thing isn’t always about being seen, praised or recognized.
Sometimes nobody will ever know.
But you will.
And that’s enough.

📝 Stop Being Afraid of Your Own Power
How many times do we hold ourselves back because we’re afraid of what other people might think?
We’re afraid to be seen.
Afraid to try.
Afraid to fail.
Afraid to succeed.
Afraid of being too much.
But what if the very thing you’re afraid to step into is the thing that could change your life?
You don’t have to dim your light to make somebody else comfortable.

📝 The Most Important Lesson I Learned in 20 Years of Marriage Wasn’t From My Husband
Twenty years of marriage taught me a lot.
But one of the biggest lessons wasn’t about my husband at all.
It was about me.
My identity.
My independence.
My friendships.
My interests.
My voice.
And remembering that being a wife and mother doesn’t mean disappearing inside those roles.
Love someone deeply without losing yourself completely.

📝 Isolation Is Restoration
Sometimes we don’t need more people.
Sometimes we need a little less noise.
A little less access.
A little more quiet.
And there’s a difference between isolating yourself because you’re hurting and intentionally stepping away because you need to restore yourself.
Not everyone needs daily access to you.
Sometimes solitude gives you the space to hear yourself again.

And one last note before September…
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from writing these notes, it’s that inspiration doesn’t always come from a book, a seminar or some profound life-changing experience.
Sometimes it comes from a conversation at breakfast.
A television show.
A YouTube video.
Something your husband says.
Something your child does.
Something you overhear.
Or a thought that pops into your head while you’re doing absolutely nothing important.
That’s the beauty of being an overthinker.
We’re always collecting little thoughts.
The trick is learning which ones are worth keeping.
So I’m keeping these.
And maybe one of them was exactly the note you needed this month.
A Note for Today
Don’t rush past the lessons you’ve already learned.
Before you start the next chapter, take a minute to appreciate the one you just lived.
What note are you taking with you into September?
Until the next note,
